Old Xavs athletes have been keeping active over the Christmas/New Year period.
There were some good runs at the pre-Christmas Vic Milers’ Club with Charlotte Hoskings running 10:28.31 in the 3000m, Monica Clarke 2:20.11 in the 800 m, and Savannah Noack 2:24.27 in the 800 m.
Over twenty runners had a run and breakfast on Christmas morning at Studley Park. This event has been happening every year since 1976.
Distance runners gathered at Falls Creek for a week or two of focussed training under the watchful eye of coach Anthony de Castella, following a tradition of Australian distance runners stretching back to the 1960s.
We look forward to a range of competitions in the New Year as AV competition resumes and the Two Bays Trail Race draws a number of the OXAC distance squad.
