One of wettest weeks of the winter so far combined with the traditionally tricky conditions of Cruden Farm to ensure a challenging circuit for the 4th round of the AV XCR season. Junior runner Christos Tsorlinis tackled the 4km course in a zippy 15:33, while Tim Tyers made his OXAC debut over 7km in 26:31. For everyone else, there was a soggy, rolling 12km course to navigate.
For the Xaverinas we were represented by Julie Pearsons (1:01:08); Fleur Shaw-Jones (1:04:00); and Margaret Fitzgerald (1:07:29).
For the men, it was once again Alan Colman recording the fastest time of the day (48:10) and placing second in the M55 category, while Michael Tsorlinis (52:04) Thuan Ma (56:57) Bob Meek (1:09:53) and Christopher Worsnop (1:17:06) made sure we filled the Div 3 team.
Cruden Farm is probably the hardest course of the winter season even in good weather, which might have contributed to a smaller-than-usual OXAC contingent, but the team acquitted themselves admirably.
The road relays at Calder Raceway are next on June 28 and will surely provide a sharp contrast.
