OXAC Group Session Details

Tuesdays:
Venue: Xavier College - 135 Barkers Rd Kew. Meet in front of the Grand Stand. Parking available in underground Chapel Oval Carpark. Toilets available in Sports Centre / GrandStand change rooms.
Time: 6:15pm for warmup on ovals or local surrounds, plus strides and drills. 6:45pm for session briefing and start. (Start times may vary)
Session Structure: Varies between threshold blocks, Fartlek, VO2 Max intervals with standing recoveries. Sessions are devised based on major upcoming events and seasons. Sessions are varied individually based on specific needs in discussion with the coach.
Attendees: Usually 30-50 runners composed of OXAC members, HTC Tri Club Members, Inclusive Sports Training Members (Athletes with ID), and general de Castella Run Coaching Members.
Thursdays:
Venue: Botanical Gardens—Birdwood Avenue. Meet on the path that runs between Birdwood Avenue and Domain Road, adjacent to the Botanical Hotel. Parking available on Birdwood Avenue (ticketed) or surrounding streets. Toilets available—public toilet on Domain Rd). Coach or other attendee car is usually available to store bags during the session. Session usually at Lakeside Stadium Track, or around the Tan / local areas
Time: 6:00pm for warmup, strides and drills, or 6:30pm for session briefing and start.
Session Structure: Varies between track sessions at Lakeside, Threshold Efforts or Fartlek. Group sessions, individualised based on attendee needs.
Attendees: Usually 10-20 runners, same groups as Tuesdays.
Saturdays:
Venue: Botanical Gardens—Birdwood Avenue. Meet on the path that runs between Birdwood Avenue and Domain Road, adjacent to the Botanical Hotel. Parking available on Birdwood Avenue (ticketed) or surrounding streets. Toilets available—public toilet on Domain Rd. Coach or other attendee car is usually available to store bags during the session. Session usually around the Tan / local areas
Time: 8:00am for warm up, strides and drills, or 8:30am for session briefing and start. For some sessions the warmup is part of the session.
Session Structure: Varies between Threshold Efforts followed by VO2 Max Intervals (e.g. 1km reps) or Fartlek. Group sessions, individualised based on attendee needs.
Attendees: Usually 10-20 runners, same groups as above.
- Post session most attendees attend the local cafe—Domain Brasserie for coffee / breakfast and session debrief
- When club races are being held in the afternoon, Saturday morning sessions usually proceed, unless it is a key race where everyone is expected to be racing in the afternoon.
Costs
- Session Fee: $10
- Monthly Membership: $40/month
- Personal Program Coaching: $80/month
